Happy Spring

Happy Spring.... I think! I say "I think" as we just got 4 inches of snow yesterday at my house! Of course I am loving it as I'm a big snow person but I know plenty of people are ready for Spring. At least maybe my card will get you in the mood for Spring.

We were to make an unusual fold card. Now that can be a toughie but after looking around (aka Pinterest), I found one... Cascading card.  ( You can find a few directions on how to do this fold over at SplitCoastStampers)

I used two sided pattern paper for my card. To give the top more of a look, I cut it using a border punch. It's a Spring card, right? So what is Spring without some flowers? So I added a few flowers of various sizes and a sentiment that says "Happy Spring". Of course we can't forget that bow, so I added a double loop bow using the second to smallest setting on the Craft-Dee BowZ maker. I also added a few extra tails to the bow while making it.

Here is a top view of the card. I attached entire cascading card to a piece of white cardstock to give it a stronger base.

And here is a close up of the bow.

Hope you enjoyed a little bit of Spring today!

Inky Hugs,
Amber

ps. I just realized (in looking at older blog posts) that Barbara also made a Cascading card for this month! Now you have two different takes on it to get you started on your own.

Scatter Joy!!!

Well, I am anxiously waiting for Spring to get here! I'm so tired of rain, and snow and COLD!!! So I thought I would "Scatter a little Joy" with this card! I pulled out some old scraps of paper and die cuts that matched this lucious ribbon. I also did a different type fold. It's actually a backwards folded small card inside an offset larger card.

I started out with a base of green cardstock. I embossed one section with a Spellbinders reversable embossing folder (Patchwork). I added pieces of patterned paper and die-cuts.

Here you see the inside section, you can see the bow itself was done with the sheer blue and green ribbons. The bow is a double loop bow, of course tied with my Craft-Dee Bowz tool!!! I used the lavendar ribbon to wrap around and use as a tie. It ties closed in the back.

Here is the inside!

Here are a couple of close-ups, you can see the detail of the bow and also a little bit of the embossing! This is also one of my favorite color combinations!

I hope this has put you in the mood to work on some Spring projects, and don't forget to add lots of bows, and be sure to use the Craft-Dee Bowz tool!!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Not Just Another Fold...............

Hi everyone! Brenda here with another challenge for Craft-Dee Bowz. Our challenge this month was to create a card using a non-traditional fold. I chose this Four Fold card, and of course we have to put a bow on it! LOL This is a picture of the front. I used an embossing folder and a Martha Stewart punch, with lavender ribbon to tie it closed.

Can you tell it's Spring? I just love all of the spring colors here. I've added some bling, K & Co Daisy flowers, some punched flowers, done a little stamping on the outer flaps and you guessed it! A green and blue multi looped bow made with the Craft-Dee Bowz bow maker.

If you want beautiful bows that doesn't take a lot of time, then you need one of these tools. Just go to the top of the page and click on the Craft-Dee Bowz tool and it will direct you to how you can purchase one. You'll be glad you did!

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs Brenda

Sharing a fun project

Boy, I'm really full 'o the blarney for a non-Irish!  Here's another St. Patricks Day post for ya', me lovelies!  I purloined this off a website cause it was so darn cute and needed to be shared.  It's a 4-leaf clover filled with (mmmm!) Hershey Kisses (my fave!).

Made with just a few measured scraps of card stock, a few slits and curves and here's this adorable hanging candy treat!  You can just make out some glitter around the outer edges for a wee bit more sparkle.  And it wouldn't have been complete without a cute little bow made with the Craft-Dee BowZ!

Enjoy!

Cascading

Hi Everyone,
It's Barbara here. WOW,  March has arrived.... and.I love March because a few great things happen this month.  Spring starts, St. Patrick's Day is celebrated and.... it's Nat'l Craft Month. Please try to stop in to check on all the creative projects presented by the super talented design team members throughout the month.

Let me share my project with you.

I decided to make a cascade card. I recently received a new stamp set from Unity and decided I would incorporate some of those stamped images in this card. These cards are really not hard to make, you just don't want to get sidetracked in the middle of measuring and cutting. The cascade card incorporates some really cool folds and I think that is what make this card so intriguing.

 Here is a front shot

Here is more of an overhead shot

Check out this close up of the double bow I added to the front of this card.

The Craft-Dee BowZ tool makes it so easy to make a double bow.Well,  I also think it makes it easy to make any style of bow. If you are bow challenged then you definitely want to add this tool to your arsenal.

Did you notice the smaller bow I added to the jar lid. Made that jar look too cute.
Click here to order your bow maker.

These style of cards are hard to photograph, I think. So I hope you are able to check out the card and my 2 bows.

Thanks for stopping in today and next week we will have another fabulous project to share with you.

See you soon,
Barbara

Top O' the Mornin To Ya!

That's the extent of any Irish in me -- sorry!  I just thought I'd post this cute little light bulb idea that I saw in one of the many automated emails that come my way every day.  What a great gift for a little one to give to Mom or Grandma on Mother's Day, or something small for someone in the hospital.  It can be decorated as a baby shower gift, a hostess thank you, and so on.   I think  this is an adorable
idea for any occasion. You get the idea.  Here's the Craft-Dee BowZ version.  I just love the fact that I can choose whatever bow size will fit the project and voila!  And here you go...

Now here's another I did that's more generic.  I filled this one with some Wasabe nuts:

And here's the back view...

The lightbulb unscrews so that you can easily fill it with (tiny) candies.  I found that the small jelly beans were perfect (Wal-mart variety).  Add a tag for whatever the occasion and you are good to go!  I'll be giving a few of these away at my next event with Scrap-A-Way in Mystic, CT in a few weeks.

Hope you enjoyed it and got inspired along the way.
