Play Ball

Hi everyone Monica here with a Craft-Dee Bowz post for Tuesday!!.  The task was to create a masculine and for me this definitely is a challenge because I am so used to doing girly-girl post so I hope this card turned out masculine and still pretty lol.  I created a multiple loop bow with the CDB tool by winding several times around the pegs and tying the twine in the center.

To be honest I never thought I would like twine really, but man where has this stuff been I absolutely love it because of its versatility you can use it for literally anything so I am sold on this stuff for sure.  I hope everyone enjoyed my post for today and thanks so much for stopping by!!

Love my guy...

Hello bow makers!  This feels like unchartered territory for me -- I don't get to post much of my own creations since I have this spectacular design team on board.  But, unfortunately, one of our designers had to step down due to unforeseen circumstances.  We will miss you Robin.

So, with that being said, I have taken over the empty slot each month as well as subbing in for the Blog Hops in October and December.  Since our theme this month is masculine (I know!  it can be a challenge creating masculine cards!), I have created this card using lots of fun mediums.  The obvious medium is burlap.  I do so love working with burlap and have it in many colors, but the natural is my favorite.  I've wrapped raffia and bakers twine around the left edge of my burlap canvas.  The burgundy borders were created using silver peel offs which I had to color with a burgundy Copic marker.  Add a few gears, a "love" die and create a background stripe and here we have it!  I made the little bow using the raffia and twine at the same time and created a multiple loop bow which I adhered using a glue dot.

Sorry about the photo quality -- left pic shows border with peel offs and right pic shows bow with raffia and twine.

Using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool is such a time saver and a no-brainer -- two precious commodities!  I hope you enjoy this little project and I welcome any comments that you care to share.  Thanks for dropping by.

My Guy....MY HERO, MY FRIEND!

Vicki here...It's my turn up on the Craft-Dee  BowZ Blog.  Our August theme is masculine using the colors brown, burgundy and a single loop bow.  With a wedding anniversary coming in October, this was perfect timing for me.   So, today I'm sharing a card for the special man in my life...my hero, my friend!

We will be celebrating 38 years of marriage soon and have been together for 40.  Really?  That was fast!   Using our theme and colors,  I created an anniversary card that will actually be ready in advance!

"MY HERO...MY FRIEND"

The card base of craft and brown is 6" x 6".  You know how square I am when it comes to card making! I layered patterned paper in the same color tones and then used burgundy for my accent embellishments.

A piece of sheer brown ribbon is wrapped around the upper corner of the card.  The bow was created using my fabulous Craft-Dee BowZ Tool.  It helps create bows quickly and with ease.  I seriously love wide, sheer ribbon when making bows.  Next, I hot glued the bow on the corner ribbon and  attached the chain and gear to the center of it.  I added brass number studs to represent 38 years and buttons tied with twine to the centers of a few of the other gears.  The sentiment is stamped and die-cut to look like another gear.  A small brass paper clip is the final touch.

I hope my card has inspired you to create something for the guy in your life.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello bow makers!  I have a great surprise for you today.  This video has been  a long time in the making -- mostly because of malfunctioning media (camera, iPhone, and the videographer -- that would be ME!).  Sometimes I just can't win!  Well here it is -- the technique that has everyone's jaw dropping when I demonstrate this at shows.  So grab yourself a cuppa, whip out your Craft-Dee BowZ tool and some Washi Tape and follow along with me!

Just For You

Hi Everyone,

How are you doing today?? Hope you are having a wonderful day.

Today is my post day here at Craft-Dee BowZ. This month the theme for the designers is masculine. Those seem to be difficult cards to come up with for some reason. LOL

The card I made uses a stamp that I love and have had for eons and will probably love it til I die.

Isn't that birdie too cute!!

My bow is just a single loop bow, but to make it somewhat different, after the bow was finished,  I just pulled on one of the loops and that made the bow lopsided, which is exactly the look I wanted. Let me show you a closer view.

The ribbon I used is a very nice, heavier cloth ribbon, like a herringbone ribbon, and is better suited for a single loop bow, perfect for this theme and card.

You know, Craft-Dee BowZ has the best bow making tool around!! If you don't own one, you may want to check out the videos to see how easy it is to make a bow using the tool and then order one for your very own. You won't regret it!!

Before I forget, I hope you stop back tomorrow evening for the Craft-Dee BowZ bi-monthly blog hop. The blog hop starts at 10:00 p.m. sharp. Stop and comment on all the designers blogs along the way and that will put you in the running for a prize give away of a Craft-Dee BowZ tool of your own.The prize will be awarded on Saturday.

I hope to see you sometime throughout the hop.
