Hello Little Butterfly!

Being that today is the 4th Tuesday in the month, it's my day to post. This month we each made a fancy fold card. I used this adorable image by Di's Digi named Hello Butterfly. For those of you surrounded by snow, I hope my card makes your toes feel warmer.

I don't make many fancy fold cards so this was my attempt. The paper is by Doodlebug, the fence die is by Magnolia; the cloud die is by Die-Namics, and the sentiment die is by Cheery Lynn. The flowers (and I added tiny rhinestones in the middle of each one) and leaves (I painted over each with my Wink of Stella green pen) are miscellaneous punches and the grass die is by Memory Box and was cut 4 times in 4 different green papers. Below is a sideview so you can see my fold and how I 'layered' my fence, grass/flowers and image.

And here's a close up of this adorable Di's Digi image. I colored my image with Copics, but this time I used a different paper and am disappointed with it. My usual paper, Neenah Super Smooth, didn't bleed like this paper did. I really did color within the lines, honest! So, I'm off to purchase more of my Neenah.

And I HAVE to show off my bow. I used my Craft-Dee Bowz tool and couldn't have made a such a pretty bow without it. I added this cute orange enameled metal butterfly with a piece of embroidery thread. I love embroidery thread since it comes in so many different colors and is easy to tie a bow, unlike some of the wax coated threads. I thread embroidery thread in all my buttons, too (on other cards).

Since this is the 4th and last Tuesday of the month and our challenge is monthly, guess what...you need to get your cards posted on the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge blog where the topic is ANYTHING GOES AND INCLUDE A HANDMADE BOW this week by February 28. I hope you'll join in since the prize is a reel of ribbon and who doesn't want a reel a ribbon!

                                                                                    Hugs,
                                                                             Gail

Bird house pop box up card

Hi
It is Tracey here with my post for February . This month the Craft-Dee Bowz DT are showing our fancy folds projects to you...I have made this cute pop up box card and decorated it to look like a birdhouse..I used an A4  sheet of 300gsm white card for the base as you need a sturdy finished box.I used spotty card cut into panels to cover all the sides and back of the box. The flowers and leaves are made using punches and attached onto the box using acetate in varying heights. The birds are  made using a punch also.I used strips of white card to form the roof of the birdhouse and used a little punched heart in the middle..Of course I used my trusty Craft-DeeBowz bow making tool  to make the gorgeous double looped bow,

Don't forget, Craft-Dee BowZ has a challenge going on all month. The theme is always "Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow."
Hope to see your project entered.
Happy crafting

Tea Time!

Vicki here....it's my turn up on the Craft-Dee BowZ Blog today.

The Design Team is working with "Fancy Folds" and colors of blue, purple and white this month.  I chose a Tea Bag Fold card as my fancy fold project along with blue and white for colors. Our niece will be getting married soon and her bridal shower has a "Tea Party" theme.  So this was an opportune time for me to get started on her shower card. I have the perfect die cuts for this project in my stash too!

Here's my tea bag card with a few steps to creating your own!

"Love is brewing..."

The card opens and displays 2 pockets that hold tea bags.  I used coordinating patterned papers with small prints since the card itself is not very big.  The tea pot and tea cup die-cuts are new and I was excited to use them on this project.

 Back side of front cover.

Front side of pocket 1 and back side of pocket 2.

Poem on the inside of back cover.  I found this poem on the web, but decided to make it more personal and changed most of the wording to fit the event.

The mini tutorial below gives you the measurements and a few steps in creating your own tea bag card.   I have added some photos to help along the way.

Measurements:
(1) 4" x 9" cardstock
(1) 7 1/2" x 8" cardstock
(4) 3 1/8" x 3 3/4" cardstock in 2nd color or patterned paper
(2) 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" cardstock in 2nd color or patterned paper

Step 1
Score the  4" x 9" cardstock at 4" and 5" and fold along score lines.  Set aside for use later.

Step 2
Take the 7 1/2" x 8" cardstock and score at 1/2" and 4" on the 7 1/2" side.  Fold along the score lines.  Using double sided tape, adhere the 1/2" fold to the other side forming a pocket that is open on both ends.

Step 3
Score the pocket at 3 3/8" and 4 3/8".  Fold along the score lines.

Step 4
Adhere the previously cut 3 1/8" x 3 3/4" and 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" pieces.  These can be embossed or stamped prior to adhering to the card pockets.
( I cut cardstock to these sizes for matting and patterned papers 1/4 smaller)

Step 5
Apply double sided tape to the spine, align and adhere to the inside of the cardstock cover.

Step 6
Embellish the front of the cover and fill the pockets.

I made this cute little bow on the teapot using my Craft-Dee BowZ Bow Making Tool.  Works great for making all different sizes of bows.

Just Flutterin' By

Hi Everyone,

It's Barbara here with my post for February. This month at Craft-Dee BowZ, the design team will be spotlighting projects using Fancy Folds. My card is just a few folds, some designer paper, handmade flowers, a doily and a few other embellishments.

Here is my card folded shut

Opened up

Here are some of my handmade flowers.

The Bow:
I made this bow by stacking the purple and blue ribbon.and used the Craft-Dee BowZ tool to made a double loop bow. After the bow was removed from the tool, I pulled the loops apart to give the bow a fluffy look.

Time to get your Craft-Dee BowZ tool out and make a beautiful fluffy bow.
