Sweet and Pretty in Pink

Being that it's the 4th Tuesday of the month, it's my turn to post on Craft-Dee BowZ!  The Design Team is working with butterflies, doilies and flowers this month along with the color "pink".  Pink has become synonymous with October and "Breast Cancer Awareness".  I decided to do something a little different than my usual style and I have so many pretty embossing folders and never use them...and it's time to stretch and use some of these craft items I've been collecting.

The embossing folder is by Couture Creations and I used pink White Washed paper by Co'ordinations and then sanded the embossed areas for the pink to show through. I used my Ranger Distressing Tool on the edges. The butterfly die is by Memory Box and I coated it with glue and then sprinkled Crystal Snow glitter by Stampendous all over it. The pearls on my card are from assorted packages in my stash. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley and I used my Stampin' Up punch around it. So that you can put this card in perspective, the size of it is 5.25 X 7.5 inches.

My bow is a double loop and I used my Craft-Dee BowZ tool to make it. It was so easy to get the bow straight and the tails out straight using this tool!  I added this pretty button with the back cut off in the middle of my bow. Thank you to Donna at Craft-Dee BowZ for this pretty ribbon!

Have you seen the cards posted each Tuesday by a member of the Design Team?  If you haven't, please stop by here and take a look. And like you, we appreciate a kind word or two if you have time.

Since this is the last Tuesday of the month, you have just a few more days to get your card done and posted to the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge blog for this month's challenge of ANYTHING GOES AND INCLUDE A HAND MADE BOW. And I'd like to remind you that a bow made from a die cut doesn't count as a hand made bow. And, stamped or digital bows on an image's dress or on a basket don't count as a hand made bow, either.

Butterflies are Beautiful things

Hi
It is Tracey here with this my post for this month....The Dt have a theme of Butterflies /doilies /flowers to work woth this month so I chose 2 of the 3 ...Butterflies and flowers .I made a pretty aperture card .I used an 8x8  rose embossing folder  from embossalicious instead of backing paper so I could keep the design Clean and simple .The aperture was created using a spellbinders circle die and I used acetate behind it to form a window,The pretty butterfly was made using vellum and a stamp set I have had from the crafty pad for years!!! I stamped and embossed it using versamark and then heat embossed it with white wow powder. I then layered it up and added gems in the centre. The wording is also part of the craftypad stamp set and I just stamped this in pink matching ink.The flowers are from wild orchid and the pretty flourishes are made using dies from cheery lynn.I matted and layered the sentiment and put inside so you can see it through the aperture

The beautiful bow was made using pretty gingham ribbon I had in my Monthly MPP pack...Thank you Donna it is beautiful.I made my triple looped bow using as always my trusty Craft-Dee Bowz bow making tool.It is so easy and quick to produce perfect bows time after time...
here is a close up of my bow

a pic of the card opened up so you can see the aperture

I hope you like my project and that you join us in the Craft-Dee Bowz monthly challenge where anything goes with a handmade bow.....
Happy crafting

"My Heart is full..."

Vicki here...It's time for me to share my Craft-Dee BowZ Design Team project. The DT is working with butterflies, doilies and flowers this month along with the color "pink".  Pink has become synonymous with October and "Breast Cancer Awareness", a topic that is near and dear to my heart.  This past year I have had 2 good friends go through treatment for breast cancer.  I am happy to say they have both completed the necessary therapy and are now in remission!

On to my October inspiration project....

"My heart is full"

This card was inspired by the patterned paper that I chose as my card base.  I loved the kraft colored heart and all the little background hearts.  Aside from being "color of the month," the pink was a great accent choice with the kraft.   The card is 6 x 6 and two layers separated with pop dots for dimension.  I used pink glitter cardstock to mat the two layers and highlight the glitter in the ribbon.  The kraft die-cut doily is tucked in between the layers. The sentiment is computer generated, cut with a banner die and edged with pink glitter glue.  I embellished around the bow and sentiment with flowers, flourishes and butterflies.

Untie the Ribbons

Hi Everyone,Thanks for stopping in today.

Barbara here, with a card for you. This month the theme that us designers were given is: Flowers, Butterflies and Doilies (pick 1 or 2). And of course we always include a bow

I decided to use a few of my small handmade flowers.
And since the fall season is upon us now, some our birdie friends are going south for the winter.
So I thought I would use this darling Hero Arts bird that I have had for a while,.

I added some of my small handmade flowers as an accent to the verse panel.

My bow is a double loop bow made with my Craft-Dee BowZ bow making tool.
The tool makes bow making a breeze.

Easy to use, portable, and the posts are stored inside the tool.
If you are bow challenged then this is the tool for you.

Blog Hop Alert

Stop back Wednesday nite at 10:00 p.m. ET to participate in the CDB blog hop. There are just four designers so it will not take too long to go thru the blog hop. The theme is
Pretty in Pink (Breast Cancer Awareness)
We probably all know someone who has been touched in some way by this dreadful disease. So please stop by Wednesday nite to hop along.

We are looking forward to seeing you back here Wednesday nite.
