Is it Christmas in May?

If there are "Christmas in July" challenges, why can't I make a Christmas card in May! I love making Christmas/winter cards and when the Design Team at Craft-Dee BowZ was given the challenge of Music to My Ears and we needed to use teal, black and white, I admit to being a little stumped. But as I went through my notebook of stamps in the music category and ran across this stamp by Our Daily Bread, I knew just what image stamp I had that fit this sentiment. This Wild Rose Studio nativity stamp is totally precious to me and I hope you like it, too. Remember the challenge for you is ANYTHING GOES AND INCLUDE A  HAND MADE BOW.
I colored my image with Copics but used chalk around the star and over the sentiment. The musical note die cut is by Memory Box. And to keep the scene as I imagined, I used this wood plank paper to represent the barn where Jesus was born. I added white flocking to the lamb and bunny for texture.
This white organza bow is a triple loop bow made on my Craft-Dee BowZ tool. I truly could never manage this bow without my Craft-Dee BowZ tool as how would you ever hold the loops and pull them to come out as beautiful as this bow! My husband was standing over my shoulder talking to me about other 'stuff' as I made the bow and he paused in awe as I looped this around, tied it off and slid it off the rods. He said, and I'll quote: Wow, that was easy".  This little bow maker is a treasure I will have forever, keep close on hand, and when the day comes I don't need it, I'm passing it down to my daughter. It's one of my least expensive tools, used regularly, never fails me, doesn't need electricity, is portable and can hang by a push pin (how do I know this? Cause it's on a push pin on the wall next to my craft table). And, if anyone out there over thinks their card making and embellishments (like I do), I used this white organza because to me it represents purity.
The Design Team at Craft-Dee BowZ each has a Tuesday to post a project. If you've missed any of the posts, please come on over to the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge blog and scroll down to see each of the projects by the four Design Team members.  As always, our monthly challenge to all entrants is ANYTHING GOES AND INCLUDE A HAND MADE BOW. I hope you'll add a hand made bow to your project and enter our challenge this month!

A Little Ballet .....

Hi
It is Tracey here with my project for you for this month .The Dt had a " Music to my ears theme "  and a colour combo of either teal/black or ,cream/ blackfor may and so I just had to use my favourite little Ballet Dancer from Mo Manning .I coloured her with promarkers. The musical notes to the left are made using a memory box die. The musical border  die is from Joycrafts . The papers are from My Minds Eye and are called lost and found antique.my Mpp Pack this month .
I handmade the music score rose using sue wilsons classic rose die. The rolled flowers were handmade using a Marianne D die .

The sentiment stamp is from stampin bella. I inked the edges of everything using TH pumice stone distress ink ,I attatched a cute ballet shoe charm complete with cute  twine mini bow

The fab triple  looped organza bow  and mini twine bow were both  made using my Craft-Dee BowZ  Bow making  tool ,It is so easy to use and is my go to tool for all my Bow making needs.

I hope you like my project and that you will join us for the Craft-Dee BowZ May challenge where anything goes with with a handmade bow .
Happy Crafting

"You Make My Heart Beat Faster"

Vicki here...I'm up on the Craft-Dee BowZ Blog  today sharing some fun May inspiration with you!

During the month of May, the Design Team is creating with the colors of teal, white/cream and black along with a music theme.  There were so many ideas that came to mind, but I decided on a pyramid shaped card for my project. One, because I wanted to try something different, and two, because it really fits the theme!

Here's why....

Do you know what this is?  Have you ever seen one before?  Well, it's a Metronome.  A device that can be set to a regulated beat per minute.  It is used by musicians to work on timing and tempo.  The ticks represent a fixed, regular pulse. Yep, just like a heart beat!  It's shaped like a pyramid and inspired the May project I created to share with you.

Here is my Metronome/Pyramid card...

"You Make My Heart Beat Faster"

The pyramid shape was created with black cardstock and teal, leopard print paper.  I used two different music sheet printed papers...for the heart on the front of the card and to embellish the inside of the card.  The pendulum is a clock hand and worked perfectly!

The inside of the card is embellished with several different patterned papers, music notes and the sentiment.

The yummy bow was made using my Craft-Dee BowZ Tool.  It's three separate single loop bows stacked together to create a multi looped bow.  I adhered a velvet flower to the center.  Love that awesome bow?  You can create bows like this using the Craft-Dee BowZ Bow Making Tool.  Stop by the blog and purchase yours today!

Music is Life

Hello everyone
Thanks for stopping in today.

Barbara here and since it's the first Tuesday of the month
it's time for my project for Craft-Dee BowZ.

Each month the challenge theme here at the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge,
for those that submit,
 is always Anything Goes.

However, we designers have a theme for our Tuesday posts
and our theme for May is
 Music to my Ears.

Let me share with you my finished card.

This was a fun theme and I love all the items I was able to use for this card.

My bow was made with satin ribbon and I made a triple loop bow.

Here is a closer view.

I used my CDB bow maker to make this bow  and you know,
I love this tool, it's easy to use and easy to store or even travel with.

Don't forget our challenge theme is always Anything Goes.
And we are looking forward to seeing your creation submitted in the challenge.

Please stop back next Tuesday to see what Vicki has designed.
