Birds of a feather...

It's the fourth Monday of the month, and my turn to post on Craft-Dee BowZ challenge blog! It's so much fun each week to see what my teammates have come up with.  This month the team challenge, not your challenge, was Feathers, Fur or Frog Legs using an image from our sponsor, Robyn's Fetish.  I used this cute image named Birdie's Nest. Your challenge at Craft-Dee BowZ is ANYTHING GOES AND ADD A HANDMADE BOW!

We also had the challenge to use green and brown which wasn't too hard to do with a bird image, but then when I made my bird a sparrow, it was all brown. It was a brown bird sitting in a brown nest sitting on a brown branch and I felt like it was just a little too much brown, so I colored a blue bird that has a peach breast.

I colored my image with Copics and want to thank my best friend, Lillian, for sending me these leaves and swirl die cuts. I didn't have anything that looked like the leaves on the branches but Lillian did. Thanks, Lillian! I lucked out with having a bag of assorted colored feathers and the bird cage is a die by Poppy Stamps.  Here's a close-up of the image.

I colored my entire background with light blue chalk and then added some light blue outline around my image. Color. I love color and just green and brown was a killer for me. I always save my bow picture for last...why?  So that when you finish looking at my pictures, it's the last one you see and the best is always last! That's a brown fuzzy brad that I used in the center of my triple looped bow.

A little Birdie ...

Hi
It is Tracey here with my inspiration post for this month .I have made this sweet easel card this month using the image provided by our fabulous sponors  Robyns Fetish stamps and more  who will offer the winner 2 digi images of their choice .

The DT had a theme of "feathers, fur or frogs legs to follow this month so I have used the image called A LITTLE BIRDIE TOLD ME  and you can find it HERE

I used promarkers to colour the image. The frame around the bird was created using a Sue Wilson lattice arched.adornment edge die.I used papers from my stash .The flowers are from my local craft shop .I also used some real pine cones I collected from my garden last year. The butterflies are made using a die from joy crafts. The cork hearts are from a local dollar store. The pretty feathers  and ribbon were given to me as part of my monthly CDB pack .I used my Craft-Dee BowZ Bow maker to make the triple looped bow.It produces stunning bows time after time with ease

I hope you like my project and that it inspires you to join us in this months  challenge
Happy crafting
Tracey x

"Safari Adventure"!!

Vicki here...I'm up on the Craft-Dee BowZ Blog today with my August inspiration.  The Design Team is creating with an animal theme in colors of brown and green using feather embellishments.  It was a fun experience using the feathers on my project!

Here's my August inspiration...

"Safari Adventure"

I used the new G45 Safari papers for this 8 x 8 card.  What a great paper collection full of fun animal prints.  I fussy cut a lot of the pieces and added dimension for a 3-D look.

I love the tiger, so he had to be front and center!

I made a pocket behind the "Safari Adventure" sign, added one of the tags from the set and included a charm that was most appropriate for this adventure.

The "piece de resistance", the fabulous bow and flower embellishment was so fun to create!  The bow was created using the Craft-Dee BowZ Bow Making Tool.  If you don't have one, add one to your stash today!  It helps make bows with ease.  I added some twine and a matching flower to the bow and tucked in some extra feathers for a finishing touch.

I am into animals this month so I chose a darling duck to use on my project.

I decided to show a momma and her babies. I used the digital image Just Ducky
That's the great thing with digi stamps, you can enlarge or decrease the size to get the look you want. I had a cattails die in my stash and also a die to cut grass, so I was off to make this adorable card.

The bow on today's card is another layered stacked bow. but this one is just 2 layers (loops) but the tails from the band around the card and the tails from the two layers make the bow look bigger.
Lets take a closer look

See, just two loops, but lots of tails, that makes this bow look fluffy and bigger than it really is.

Don't forget, the CDB challenge goes for the whole month.
We would like to see your submission, and you could be the next winner.

Stop back next Tuesday for another designer inspiration piece from Vicki..
