Birthday Blessings to You

Hi Everyone!!!
It's Barbara and I am back with my regular monthly post. Did you have a wonderful Labor Day weekend??? I sure did. Now it's time to get back in the swing of things, back to work, back to the normal routine.

Today I have a card for you that contains a  bit of orange in it.Normally I am not a big fan of orange, but my tastes must be changing 'cause it seems like I've used I used orange a lot lately. And here I go again today with more orange. LOL  That's OK, I guess I am in ushering the fall season, with my choice of orange colors on these cards lately.

I had some Tri Shutter cards cut out and ready to finish and I decided to use one of those for my card today.

I used my Craft-Dee BowZ tool to make the bow for this card. And you know, I always say this, that tool is easy to use and it lets me make fabulous bows every time. I opted for a double loop bow for this card. I really didn't want the bow to over power the side of the card. Did you notice that I layered the green ribbon down the center of that wide yellow ribbon. What a great effect.

I used one of my blank tri shutter cards as the card base.I added stamped images and gorgeous designer paper to really make that card come to life.
This first pic shows the card closed.

These tri-shutter cards are so fun to decorate, because there are so many areas to work with.
I love the fact that they will stand up on their own and show themselves off. LOL

The pic below is a view from the right looking to the left
The sentiment is positioned in the center.

I added 3 flowers to the right side of the card.

That butterfly is the perfect addition to the front area.

Craft-Dee BowZ has their monthly challenge going on right now. Hope you enter, you could be the next winner of the bow maker. Click here or go to the Monthly Challenge tab at the top of the page to check out the challenge blog and all the details.

Well that is it for now, have a great week.
Stop in next Tuesday for another post from one of the designers.
See ya soon.

From Bows to Flowers

Hi Everyone,
Babara here. Thanks for stopping by today. I have something to share with you.

You know we all buy stuff and don't use it for one reason or another and this is no exception. I had some wired yarn sitting around and  wondered, what I would get if wrapped the yarn around the pegs on the Craft-Dee BowZ tool as if it were ribbon.

You have to see what I got!!!!

A  FLOWER

This is so cute. Maybe it's a little too dimensional  for a card or a L/O but it could go on a package or maybe a pin.

Here is how I made this.

I first got the tool out and set it up with the pegs to be about 4 1/4" apart.

Then I wrapped the wired yarn around the pegs, just the same as if it were ribbon.

I wrapped 4 full times

Then placed the left  tail over the other like you do with the ribbon. Next that tail on the top,  bring it under and thru all the wired yarn and back over the top. This would normally be the know in a ribbon bow.

Then instead of  tying a knot just twist the tails together.

Twist it pretty tight and twist all the way down the other tail. So now you have just a stem.

Remove the wired yarn from the tool

Start to position the loops. I have shaped them in a round fashion.

Keep pulling them gently into place. I worked on one side then went to the other side and fiddled with it til it looked like a flower of sorts.

And here it is my finished flower.

Funny how things wind up. I bought this for possible use on a Derby hat and wound up making a flower.
Well I hope you give this a try if you own the Craft-Dee BowZ and if you don't have one yet, you can purchase one here.
