The Romance of Paris

Hi bow makers!  The theme this month is pearls and lace.  My style has not generally taken me in this direction, but now that I've tried it, I LOVE using pearls, lace and ribbon!  It seems the more you add to a project like this, the better it looks.  We were given a very wide piece of lace to work with this month which was a challenge in and of itself.  What to do?  Well my first thought was to place this lace flat over a piece of cream card stock -- looked too bare, so I added the embossed edge on the right.  Then everything evolved.  I created a "rose" from gauze and placed paper roses, pearls and leaves in the center.  Next was the yummy bow created on my Craft-Dee BowZ tool using seam binding (love this stuff!).  The addition of the crocheted lace and pearl ribbon underneath the rose gave it more depth.  The final additions were tiny seed pearls and larger ones placed strategically where there seemed to be "empty" space and then I embossed the eiffel tower and place that in the corner.  The obvious layers were added and the card completed.

I hope you enjoy this quick tutorial.  And, really, give pearls and lace a try, but not without your Craft-Dee BowZ tool! :)

Paris Reverse Canvas with Guest Designer Dana Tatar

Hi Craft-Dee BowZ fans! Dana Tatar here today sharing a Paris themed reverse canvas. It is so great to be back as a Guest Designer this month! My favorite color is green, so I was absolutely thrilled when I opened my package from Donna and found beautiful green ribbon and lace.

I cut the floral pattern from the lace and stitched several pieces together to create a flower. I then stitched on a small cluster of pearls for a dimensional flower center.

I used my Craft-Dee BowZ Tool to tie this floppy quadruple-loop bow. I don't think a project can have too many bows, so I used my Craft-Dee BowZ Tool again to tie a double-loop bow, that I attached to the top of the canvas.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Post Card from Abroad!

Vicki here with this week's inspiration. We are playing with ribbon, lace and pearls along with the colors green and cream this month.  No problem there for me!

"Happiness"

The card is made from cream cardstock.  I used a border punch along the lower front edge and adhered a strip of green cardstock to the inside of the card so that it would show through the border design.  I matted the postcard with the same green cardstock.  The doily, cut from coral cardstock,  is one of my favorite die-cuts.  I cut it apart and tucked it in behind the postcard in several places and embellished it with tiny pearls.  The sentiment and Eiffel Tower die-cut finish off the postcard.

The bouquet consists of many layers of ribbon, lace and flowers.  The bottom layer is a multi loop bow adhered around the corner of the postcard. Bows are always easy when I use my Craft-Dee BowZ Bow Making Tool!  On top of the bow is a rosette base that I made using the wide green lace that was part of our product this month.  Beautiful!  Next, I used the textured layer of a green flower as foliage and adhered some coral roses and a white carnation for the bouquet.  I tucked in some beaded stems and glued a few pearls among the flowers.

Lace and Pearls

Hi Everyone,
Welcome back to Craft-Dee BowZ. It's Barbara here and for the month of September the designers were given a theme for the DT posts of Lace and Pearls. Well that got my creativity juices flowing. Let me share with you the card I created.

I used a gorgeous pistachio green lace as my focal point. As I looked at the lace I kept thinking of Paris. I received an Eiffel Towel die and... well, it all came together.

This lace is so amazing and its the type that makes you just want to look at it, and touch it.Yummy!! You know what I mean.

My multi-loop bow was so easy to make using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool. If you haven't picked one up yet, this is a great tool especially if you feel you are bow challenged. There are great videos available to give you a visual in making a bow. And this tool is so easy to use.Visit my blog for more info.

Every Tuesday a different post is presented to offer great projects that are accented with a bow made with the CDB tool.Hope you stop in each week to be inspired and to get your bow "fix".

Hope you see something you can use in your project!!
